Being on a bit of a good run with my blogging today, I've decided that I need to share with you something so personal that you are the first to know about. That's right. The size of my (insert here) love for music. Indeed you may not give a two clap baritone about what I have to say about music, and even less about my music. But you have read this far, so I think I can safely proceed. My iTunes is on random, as a song comes on I'll share my thoughts on it. There you have it, happy reading.
)Who'll Stop The Rain? - Creedence Clearwater Revival: Not a song that I've listened to a lot, but it's one of the ones that I'm sure Dad played in my younger days in the car and the stereo. It's not a bad song at all, actually I quite like it. Why it asks ME "Who'll stop the rain?" I don't know, because I have no idea! But stay away from Dustin Hoffman!
)Photograph - Nickelback: A solid song from one of my fave bands (don't laugh! I'm warnin' ya!) This song reminds me predominantly of my life when it came it, but more specifically of waiting with Dad in the car for my Mum and Sister to come back from the post shop.
)Ruby Tuesday - The Rolling Stones: Another oldie from Dad's collection. A song that has recently been growing on me for reasons I can't fathom.
)Tragedy - The Bee Gees: You know them. The high pitched male singer brothers. Yep, this is them. Another song that recalls my childhood, walking around the lounge in a daze, not quite comprehending that these were in fact men singing.
)Everybody Loves Somebody - Frank Sinatra: A great song that I only discovered recently after picking up a Sinatra CD for a good deal. It's an ideal song to sit back, and close your eyes and listen to. And then I realise just how old I must be getting...
)Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No! - The Mint Chicks: The only reason I even have this song is because a friend of mine wanted it for his birthday. In a friendly gesture, I copied the disc to my own library... for testing of course! A Kiwi song that has certainly grown on me in the year and a bit I've had it (getting close to 2 years!)
)Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion: Yeah! So what?!!? This song was played relentlessly during my childhood by my mother. Now you, my friends, know half the reason I've turned out like this. Having said that, I do actually like the song.
)Tainted Love - Soft Cell: A good song that come back into my listening spectrum about a year ago. Although the start of the prechorus, makes me slightly upset that I do in fact listen to this every now and then. There's just something cheddary about it.
)Passe Em Casa - Tribalistas: A really interesting Brazilian song. I've had it for about 2 years now, and it is still a favourite. I have no idea what is being said, but the singers sound great singing it! The album this came off was a one time collaboration only, so thats rather a pity.
)Goodnight, Goodnight - Maroon 5: With an opening guitar that sounds ridiculously like 3DD's "Kryptonite", comes a great song from my fave band. A very touching song, that I think is, from a lyrics point of view, sung to a former lover, and their child.
